Track II: Take 2

Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 10:46 AM:
I'm working on Track #2 again this week as it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it to, last week. We're all human. We all make mistakes. The synth, keyboard, and drum tracks have all been retooled. I had this solo in it that sounded more like the main riff to a totally different, but similar sounding song. Working on the bass track which shouldn't take much, and then upload to the computer. (Hoping beyond hope that there's no clipping issues this time, too)

Bill Ulsh returns to the studio plus Mutant Melvin 3 News

Thursday, May 9, 2013, 10:35 AM:
Bill Ulsh returns to the studio this month to record His 2nd album. The follow-up to His 2012 debut "Bash Contract" recorded in 2011 in his own home studio. Plus He might be working on the sequel to "Mutant Melvin II: Extreme Summer" Bill Ulsh: "What I have in store for the 'Rat & Lizard Tag Team' this 'round is crazy-as- fuck plus you'll finally get to see Melvin riffing on 'Biffman' as well. Won't that be something?" The album Ulsh says is set for a release sometime later this year.

Bill Ulsh says: "That's a Wrap"

Thursday, December 22, 2011, 12:45 PM:
Independent recording artist Bill Ulsh has finally finished recording His debut album titled "Bash Contract". The "Violence in our Schools" singer tweeted earlier today, simply "...and THAT'S A WRAP" indicating He had just completed the final 4 tracks of the album, and quoted, "Did... I... just ...complete... My FIRST ALBUM???... well then, pizza and beer, here We come." The 9 song CD was recorded between February of this year and finished up in December of 2011. You might remember sometime back the keyboard /vocalist once blogged "The Green light is go..." indicating that after having done 4 cover songs at the time, that "Bash Contract" had finally (after many years) been given the green light. The album is expected to be due out sometime between now, and early 2012.
The 1st single "Violence in our Schools" is already available for download on Reverb Nation.

Back to the Drawing Board

Monday, July 4, 2011, 4:50 AM:
It has come to My attention recently that the last 4 song are in serious need of a COMPLETE DO - OVER! This leaves me with 2 choices: 1. Do vocals for the first five tracks or 2. Wait until all the tracks are done before adding vocals. So what have I decided? ... OPTION 1. I'm recording vocals for the first 5 track because I feel I've waited "long enough" (about five months or so) My decision is MADE and My decision is FINAL! - Bill Ulsh

Oh No... we're 1/2 way there

Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 8:40 AM:
Already 1/2 way done with this album. The other 1/2 being vocal tracks. Ladies and gentlemen, THIS IS IT!!! I can finally put all that production bullshit behind me and belt out some good ol' fashioned pent up frustration that I personally feel is (how should we say,) "Long Overdue".

Bill Ulsh in the Studio

Tuesday, April 26, 2011, 6:35 PM:
You might remember sometime back, like, a year ago, or so, I told you I was working on an album? Well, that was just the rehearsals for it. The real thing had officially begun sometime back in February of this year. Now 5 songs into it. (not including vocals.... yet). I'm back to record 2 new songs. 2 big ass thrashers, mind you. (quite possibly the two Biggest, I'd ever written, IMHO).
on an unrelated note, I'm also back working on my graphic novel (related to my music)...
"Mutant Melvin" Yesterday i worked on the illustration of what was originally a rather complex scene. (Not giving anything away at this point)
Hence why certain things (such as my cooking show "C + R") kinda have to take a back seat for now.
As always, I'll keep you posted on any further updates - Bill Ulsh

Working Hard as Nails on the album

Thursday, December 16, 2010, 8:30 PM:
Going with the specific instrument track that each song calls for. Finding out what flows naturally and what not. Also Tron: Legacy comes out tomorrow as well. HOW FUCKING AWESOME!!!

Recording OFFICIALLY begins... TODAY!

Friday, July 16, 2010, 2:15 AM:
It's time. Bill Ulsh hit the studio today laying down tracks for the upcoming debut album "Bash Contract".
3 songs are already set to be recorded sometime this week. Ulsh was already hard at work and all about business, listening to dailies, editing and cutting tracks to see what makes the album.

"(I'm) Already seeing what works and what doesn't. Like (ex.) If I don't like the guitar track, or think the drums need to be a little louder.the Hardest problem I seem to have right now is cutting the vocal tracks. I'd record it listen to it later and find out that it just wasn't right and have to do it all over again. And when it works, Find which chorus I'd like the most, cut, and loop that and after that make sure every little thing is 'Just Right or 'album worthy' before it makes the actual album. It's a little frustrating at times." - Bill Ulsh

Recording beings TODAY!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 2:05 AM:
Keyboard /vocalist Bill Ulsh hits the studio working on 9 originals written for the album.
I'm super excited to finally have the opportunity to do these songs now that I actually have the time. I'll be hard at work in my home studio. I feel that through the years I've really fine tuned most of these songs to the way I've always wanted them done in the first place. Like for instance: some songs I'm finding out now only need one guitar track where as others might need both. For the past 3 week I've been experimenting during takes with what works and what doesn't for some songs. That's just how I do things.

for those of you who wanna chat / IM, Bill Ulsh will be available to answer any missed IMs or emails You may have in mind.

Bill Ulsh says: "The Green Light means Go!"

Friday, July 17, 2009, 10:45 AM:
I'm testing out some new editing software and as You may've noticed one the results has been uploaded today. It's a cover of Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls". Now, mind you it is Just A Test, Nothing more and not meant to sound professional in any way. So please don't criticize the sound quality I know it's not the best, but like I said. It's to test out this new software I have. If all goes well, "Bash Contract" as well as it's followups will have been given the "Green Light" For sure.

ACK NATURAL! Bash Contract- Bill Ulsh
