Blackberry Monologues is available now!

Wednesday, February 13, 2019:

I'd just released My documentary "The Blackberry Monologues",
which is available now on YouTube as well as Vimeo.
In other news I might finally get around to recording that concept album
I've been talking about for awhile now and with it, some performance videos
in support of said album Now that I no longer stream due to
My computer not being able to handle it.
(and maybe even some remakes of old music videos)
Speaking of which, I'm seriously considering doing
a follow-up documentary about My attempts at doing so.

I May Be a "Streamer No More" but...

Tuesday, January 15, 2019:

I plan on doing performance videos in place of that.
(Similar to when I 1st started out on YouTube)
The 3rd and final trailer for "The Blackberry Monologues" drops Today.
In other news, I've ditched the "All Synth Remix" part of The concept album
and split "The Full Band Edit" and "Classic Edition" in 2 again.
I'm currently in the process of writing bass tabs for F.B.E. at the moment.
I know this came a little late but, I had some super important IRL stuff to
deal with during My time off away from the music and switching back to
this was no easy task, either but, I'm back doing what I know.

Blackberry Monologues is FINISHED!

Monday, December 10, 2018:

I'd just finished  post-production for "The Blackberry Monologues",
I can officially call it a day on this and move on to the remix album
that I've been hyping up for over a year, now.

Which I begin work on tomorrow. Yup I'm hittin' the studio finally for
the 1st time since February of this Year given that My time is now
freed up because In livestream news, My old microphone broke on Me during
My last show so, I had to get a new one and Later that night, I decided - "
No changing setlists, This show's getting' a web redemption" and thus the
upcoming livestream has been changed from "Technological Violence
Reimagined"
to the aptly named "Technological Violence Redemption"
however I've decided to give up live streaming because it turns out that the
computer I'm currently running on just can't handle it. So No more streams
until I can afford a new laptop that can handle such a high task.

The Lights are Back!

Tuesday, November 13, 2018:

I know I said I'd do away with them and "Think less rock concert, more jam session" but,
that was during the warmer months and I feel it's kind of appropriate since We've now
reached the "Wizard of Death" portion of the "Reimagined" series.
In other news, "the BlackBerry Monologues" is now over halfway done  with post-production,
and  it has a release date. February 13, 2019 with the 1st trailer set to drop sometime this month.
Also, in "Trilogy" news, I have now merged the "Full Band Edit" and The Classic Edition.
It was a long time coming. I knew it would happen eventually.

UStream No Longer Exists

Friday, August 10, 2018:

You might've noticed the "Shows" page
on this site looking a little different. Well,
There's a reason for that. IBM Cloud Video
(formerly Ustream) has discontinued free
accounts, so basically, if I wanted to use it
(after August 1st, anyway), I'd have to pay.
And that shit ain't cheap. So, as expected,
They basically deleted My account. And
with that, no more embedded video or chat
like You used to see on the "Shows" page
where You could go and watch My shows
and chat for free if You liked.
(Not that too many people were doing that, anyway)

This Makes My upcoming show
"The Happening Reimagined" the
1st to be featured on stream.me
as well as Mixer and Twitch.
3 sites predominately known for
gaming, despite the latter having
quite the abundant music community
that seems almost lacking in the other 2.

I'm finished with the script for My documentary
"The Blackberry Monologues" and it's currently
in production. I've yet to begin filming, or recording
any voice over work. As of right now, I'm only
working on subtitles for each part that requires it.
No release date is guaranteed yet, for all know it
could come out summer of next year. There's also
the matter of "The Remix Trilogy" to take into
account, as well.

In spite of all that, I'm happy to say that today
marks the 5th anniversary of My 1st ever
music video "Wizard of Death". Looking back
on it now, I realize that while "Mutant Melvin"
says that it's a 90's fighting game, the video
itself suggest that it might be some kind of
robot slasher film with the only character to
possibly give "Big Blue" a run for His money
being Froggit during the song's climax/outro.

No Guarantee on New Documentary

Wednesday, July 18, 2018:
After the livestream, I plan to work on
"The Blackberry Monologues".
Between the "Reimagined" series of livestreams
and the summer heat, this is taking longer
than I expected, so there's no guarantee
when it will be finished.
What I /do know is that after I get done with that,
I wanna begin work on the triple remix album
which I feel will be quite interesting to play live.
With Ustream getting rid of it's free users next month,
Twitch will be new My front runner streaming site
meaning all 3 sites I now use (stream.me included)
are known predominately for gaming and
not much for music, but I'm hoping
to maybe change that somehow.

Think Less Rock Concert, More Jam Session

Friday, April 13, 2018:

The day has come. My new double
covers album "Nite Trax: vol. 1 & II"
is out now, and can listen to it here
https://soundcloud.com/bill-ulsh/sets/nite-trax-vol-1

and here
https://soundcloud.com/bill-ulsh/sets/nite-trax-vol-ii

As far as the livestream is concerned,
I decided to do away with the lights and
fog machine (save those for the music videos)
and think of this less like a rock concert
and more like a jam session.
Not pretend it's something more
than what it really is.

I've also decided to redo "Livestreams Revisited"
and included a few extra from the "Judgment Years" era.
Who knows, I might even streams My practice sessions on
the game "Synthesia" and Show you guys How I learn songs.

Meanwhile, I'm still working on
"The Blackberry Monologues"
on the side, but I'm not sure
when that will be finished.

Time for a little Nite Trax and Chill

Friday, March 16, 2018:

The 1st single "Mr. Self Destruct"
from My up coming covers e.p.
"Nite Trax Vol.II" is out Now
and You can listen to it here:
https://soundcloud.com/bill-ulsh/mr-self-destruct-nin-cover

I've always compared to "Master of Puppets" for some reason.

Nite Trax Vol. 1 & II
is set for release April 13, 2018
That's right - Friday the 13th

My next live stream in support of that
also now has a name: "Nite Trax and Chill"
and now I move onto My upcoming documentary
"The Blackberry Monologues"
so, if You don't mind, I got a script to write.

My Time Off has Come to an End

Tuesday, February 6, 2018:
I'm sure by now, some of You may have
already figured out that My time off
has reached it's conclusion,
and with that being said...

Experiment II with the Marshall Mini
& Livestream was a success. I figured
out what levels I needed for the next
time I play live somewhere.

I'm ready to hit the studio again,
for "Nite Trax vol. 1 & II"
Vol. 1 is basically the same 4 songs
You've heard before, just done differently.
Vol. II on the other hand is buncha
songs You've only ever heard me do live
never recorded until now.
Think of it less as Me doing My own
versions of these songs and more...
"Look what else I can play"

What I've been up to lately

Friday, January 19, 2018:
You've probably been wondering what I've been
up to during My time off, before I go back
in the studio to lay down some vocals
for this new covers album.
I'm just going through the motions right now.
Kicking around ideas for future projects.
Most of that stuff's already on the itinerary.
I've been experimenting with the Marshall Mini
& Ustream and one thing I've learned recently was
to turn up the mic a bit but without
drowning out the music.

Some Much Needed Time Off

Friday, November 10, 2017:
After 2 Months, The 1st part of the Trilogy
project is complete. (The main backing tacks, that is)
Asa result, I'm taking time off from any 'main' projects
until maybe January, or February of 2018
and During that time off I'll be Uploading Outtakes
& Deleted scenes from Mutant Melvin 6
and experimenting with the
Marshall mini and Livestream, as promised.

What's Left on the Itinerary?

Tuesday, October 10, 2017:
I'm 3/4 of the way done with stuff from "Wizard of Death"
and already 1/3 into the stuff I wanna do from
"Judgment Years". I'm still excited for "The Classic Edition"
despite the limited number of songs. This is because of that
playing style's one and only major drawback: You can really
only do so much with playing bass and rhythm at the same time.
While intriguing, it limits what songs can faithfully
be recreated in such a way. However it's still interesting
to hear the songs that can be done, played this way.
Now You're probably asking "What about 'Nite Trax: Vol. II'
or 'Blackberry Monologues'?" Those are still gonna happen
at some point. I already have a track listing for "Nite Trax II"
The only thing I can tell about that is that it feels like
a continuation of Vol.1 while also being it's own stand-alone E.P.

Bill Ulsh Trilogy still in the works

Tuesday, September 12, 2017:
I'm pretty much done with all the backing tracks
for songs from "Bash Contract" and getting ready to
move on to stuff from "Wizard of Death" and "Judgment Years",
but that's only the beginning, because I haven't even
gotten to the "hands-on" studio stuff yet (Vocals, guitars etc.)
I think it'll be pretty interesting to hear these songs done this way.
Can't wait to do them live, speaking of which I still plan on
experimenting with sound quality on Ustream and seeing what I can work with
at some point in time in the near future now the weather's cooled down
a little bit. As far as Mutant Melvin goes I'll snap up the outtakes
from "Texico City Mutations" at some point as well.

Did I just end "Mutant Melvin"?

Tuesday, August 15, 2017:

I can't believe I'm finally finished with
ALL 6 Mutant Melvin stories.
The last one coming out the 25th
(Melvin's birthday, for those who get the reference)
There will, of course be outtakes, deleted & alternate
scenes posted in the picture galleries, and Believe Me
-there's a whole entire book of 'em. It'll no doubt be
a little time consuming, but I'll get it done, eventually.

What else I'm working on:
I just began work on a another project.
"Bill Ulsh Trilogy" (or just simply "Trilogy")
a triple remix album where I take a handful
of select songs from  all 3 albums and redo them in a different
(and very interesting) way.

1st we have the "All Synth Remix"
which on the surface, sounds like the original
just with a different coat of paint.
Square Lead and Synth Bass may be obvious,
but the sawtooth acts as sort of a rhythm guitar part.

Next We have the "Full Band Edit".
Where I get to play guitar on songs
that didn't previously have them,
and I know what You're all thinking -
"but wait... don't they already have guitar?"
Yes, but it's the keyboard's guitar.
Here, those parts are swapped out with actual guitar.
However if You're expecting "wicked crazy solos",
You might be setting Yourself up for a serious disappointment
because what can be played on guitar, will be played. (mostly rhythm stuff)

and last, but certainly not least is what I'm personally
most excited for - "The Classic Edition"
and why do I find this exciting?
Because this one basically brings back a sound I'd not
heard in nearly a decade. Even before I started making albums.
See, before I had My Yamaha PSR-E413 that You hear on the albums,
I had a Crumar "Organizer-B" (mislabelled as Traveler-1)
and for an old draw bar organ, it had a pretty heavy sound
complete with a bumpin' split bass. The distortion on that thing
could rival some guitars easily before its untimely demise
back in 2008. Well I guess You could say it's alive again
(in some form, anyway) and not only the sound, but the
playing style as well, because the synth track on the albums
has always been based on that playing style.

I think it's safe to say I've found My next project to
keep Me occupied for quite some time to come.

I am DONE with livestreams (...for the summer, at least)

Wednesday, July 12, 2017:

I've come to a decision. After My most recent show
"ReinVisited", I'm done with live-streaming for the
summer, but will however experiment with different
sounds and see what works.
In the meantime, I plan on finishing up
My graphic novel series "Mutant Melvin"
with a release date for somewhere between
late August and early September.
As for the future, There's still
"The Blackberry Monologues" and maybe another covers
e.p. in the pipeline. In time, We'll see.

What the Future May Hold

Thursday, April 6, 2017:

You may've noticed a few changes to the website over the past week.
There's a "Comics" section where the old Guestbook used to be.
That's right - You can now read all 5 of the current "Mutant Melvin"
graphic novels EXCLUSIVELY on this website. (also what exists of "Biffman")
I also had to bump one of My upcoming livestreams up a day because
I'm dealing with some personal things of which the future of
Myself and this very website May depend on.
But not to worry about the albums, they will still come out on the 18th
as scheduled. It's anything after that You need to worry about.

Is this the end of "The Classic Era"? - No, not yet.

Thursday, March 23, 2017:

Hey, what Up? I know it's late, but Here's what's been going on.
You might've seen some dates on the calendar, or perhaps
the new trailer that's been out, lately. Yes that's right.
I've got a couple of shows coming up in April and May.
The 1st one being an album release show.
Yes -an ACTUAL ALBUM RELEASE SHOW (on the date of release, no less)
Something I've always wanted to do, but could never really
get around to doing for some reason.
My best-of album "Bill Ulsh Yearbook" is getting released
alongside the 1st 3 albums  (through DistroKid, hopefully)
on April 18th, which will take place before the 1st livestream.

Also I have to give props to ysup12, 3dregenerator and the others over at
tf3dm.com for making the 3D models You've seen in My music videos
over the years that aren't "Wizard of Death" (which I made ENTIRELY myself)
You guys are awesome.

A rough couple of months ahead

Friday, February 17, 2017:

Hey, how's it been?
I know it's been awhile,
and You're probably wondering what
I've been up to lately.
Remember last month when I said
I was gonna have to take some albums off of Spotify,
simply because I couldn't afford it?
That's still a thing. (at least until April)
As for what I've been doing lately?
Working on more cover songs, actually.
Seeing what works / what doesn't.
and as far as new stuff is concerned,
both the e.p. and Mutant Melvin 6 have kinda been
put on the backburner for awhile.

Something a little more Practical

Friday, January 13, 2017:

What's going on, My fellow tribesmen?
I'm 5 songs in to a possible new album.
And these are not just some kitschy pg13
novelty act type songs where the novelty
wears off after like 6 months.
They're practical, memorable and most importantly
they have a little bit of Staying Power.
In other news, I pulled the funding for "Bash Contract"
on ReverbNation. I just couldn't afford it.
The other albums will follow suit
with "Wizard of Death" next month,
and "Judgment Years" in March,
so expect those to be off of Spotify sometime soon,
but they'll be back, (probably on DistroKid) sometime in April
around the time of "The Bill Ulsh Yearbook".
Speaking of which, I'll be working backing tracks
for the upcoming "Livestreams Revisited"
in support of "The Bill Ulsh Yearbook".

There's Been Some Changes to the Itinerary

Wednesday, December 14, 2016

Good news everyone. I'm already half way done with "Mutant Melvin 6" and kinda taking a break from that for now. Meanwhile "A Very Mutant Melvin X-mas" is out NOW! For all of You to enjoy. Merry Christmas to that, right? In other news, it would seem some new material has recently developed as of late. It ain't fully fleshed out yet, but I gotta tell ya, it is quite interesting. I'm already in love with the ideas I have for this new album so far. Now this ain't gonna cancel out "The Bill Ulsh Yearbook" which comes out in April, but it's something I'm thinking about working on later.

Also check My 1st ever podcast/radio interview with Jennie Friedman of SeeinADHD Here: http://www.seeinadhd.com/unusual-but-not-unheard-style/

Where I talk about ADHD, Hyperfocus. Hyper Kinetic disorder and Using Adversity to Your Advantage.

This is exciting news. May the Focus Be With You, My fellow Tribesmen.

We're Back in Business

Tuesday, November 1, 2016:
Production has already begun last week on The 6th
and final installment of My graphic novel series "Mutant Melvin".
I'm also working on a "Best of" album titled "The Bill Ulsh Yearbook"
which is set for an April 2017 release, and the subsequent
livestreams in support of that as well - "Livestreams Revisited"
Where I play old setlists from the past and add backing tracks to them.
This should be interesting.

What's Next on the Itinerary?

Tuesday, September 20, 2016:
Yes I know the month is almost over, but I felt I needed to get this out sooner than later.
We're coming up on the 3rd anniversary of My 2nd album "Wizard of Death".
Speaking of albums, I'll work on the singles later. With that out of the way,
I got a couple of big announcements.
I'll be working on Mutant Melvin 6 next month after the livestreams are done,
and also more cover songs during downtime from MM6.

Done with Distrokid

Wednesday, August 10, 2016:
Today marks the 3rd anniversary of My 1st ever music video "Wizard of Death".
The 1st single from "That album that almost wasn't". If certain events had actually happened,
this video wouldn't even EXIST right now. In other news, You may have noticed singles and albums disappearing off
of Spotify. You might've also noticed album covers looking

"a little different".

and NO - You're NOT experiencing "The Mandella Effect". I put the logo on them. They look "fuller", but what about
"The Judgment Years"? (or for that matter The Singles?). Well, due to issues I had with DistroKid, (hidden fees, etc.)
"The Judgment Years" has been put on ReverbNation, currently awaiting release (which takes up to about a month or so) and the singles will happen after that.
You guys will just have to wait until then, and I don't like having to wait anymore than the rest of You.

Thursday, August 11, 2016:
Update
Guess what, fans. THE WAIT... IS OVER!!!
The 2016 Re-issue of "The Judgment Years" is available NOW
on Spotify as of last night. As for the singles. They're still there through DistroKid,
but I don't know for how much longer, though.
Once I start seeing any singles disappear, I'll put that respective single on ReverbNation.
But anyways, That album looks so much more, "complete" now, doesn't it? YAY!

It's My style, and I can do what I want with it

Tuesday, July 5, 2016:
I'm doing something different with the livestreams this time around.
You might've noticed some schedule changes, location changes etc.
I also plan on "re-visiting" a few livestream that I might've
fucked up on to correct a few things. This may or may not become
a weekly thing, depending on what I have time to do.
I other news, the covers e.p. "Nite Trax" comes out on soundcloud
in a few weeks. A little backstory for You all: I used to get trolled
HARD on Youtube back in the day for some of these covers, but
I figure after 3 albums, My style has already been established.
If nobody likes these versions of other people's songs,
I'm not gonna be too bothered by it.

Welcome to Earth lands June 21st

Friday, June 10, 2016:
You might've seen a video on Youtube recently.

Yes that IS the  trailer to the upcoming "Making of" documentary
set for release June 21st where You can watch it for free on youtube.
As mentioned before, it's been relegated to a playlist to preserve quality
because the audio was off in other versions.

I apologize for the inconvenience, but I had to sacrifice length for quality,
however that gives you the option to still watch it in it's entirety,
or watch only parts of it.
See how I just hooked You up?
I'm cool like that. - Bill Ulsh
