What I've been up to (this whole time)

Thursday, January 14, 2020:

The live action re edit of "Smooth 4 - Life"
is now available.

I'm possibly working on an autobiography
(that branches off into alternate realities)

And remaking more songs into the "Classic Edition" style
(and maybe doing a little "vocal de aging")
to showcase what they would sound like had
I released music in My 20's rather than My 30's.
I'm kinda hoping to do My entire discography this way.
I call it the "Alternate Discography" project.

As for livestreams, I might be looking for a new place
to host them as I feel Twitch might not be too kind
with Their DMCA policies.

Wizard of Death spinoff goes 2D

Tuesday, September 15, 2020:

Okay, so I finally broke down and decided to go 2D for
"Wizard of Death: Story Mode" with Mutant Melvin being more involved.
The new single "5 Card Stud (Full Band Edit)" comes out today along with
another live-action remake of the music video (using stock footage).
I'm still doing live shows on Twitch so long as
weather (or My day job) permits.

Too Busy Writing Songs

Tuesday, August 25, 2020:

It's 5 days before Mutant Melvin's fictional and canonical birthday (He'd 40 this year).

I'm already 2 songs in to writing a potential 4th studio album
which I'm taking a break from for awhile also,
I put "Wizard of Death: Story Mode" on hiatus
until I decide what to do with it.
On the live side of things, I'm still streaming.

No Show until My single drops

Wednesday, July 15, 2020:

Much like last year, due to the intense heat,
I've decided to take some time off.
Only this time, from streaming. At least until My next
single "Wizard of Death (Full Band Edit)"  comes out.

Hopefully, that's a shorter wait for You guys.

I'm still working on "Wizard of Death: Story Mode"
whenever I find the time.
The new streaming schedule might still be the same
unless something picks up at My day job.
(Where the real money is made)

Back on the (Virtual) Stage

Monday, June 15, 2020:

"Finally…After a Year and a Half… The Ulshman… Has Come Back… to Livestreaming."
Yes - You just read that cheap impression of '90's Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson correctly.

After December 2018's disastrous "Technological Violence: Redemption" livestream
(which was in response to another equally as bad one, mind You),
I've finally got a computer that's capable of livestreaming and not crashing.
The aptly titled "Bill Ulsh Livestream" starts TODAY between the hours of 3:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M.

Now, for those of You wondering "but, wait… what about 'Wizard of Death: Story Mode'?"
You needn't worry because I'm still working on that as a side project.

Also, I just got done last week with the live action remake to the music video
for My cover of Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do".

THAT'S A WRAP! (for part 1, at least)

Tuesday, June 18, 2019:

I'm finally done with the vocal tracks and ready to
move onto post-production for the "Classic Edition"
(the vocal tracks, mainly) which I can then
copy over to the "Full Band Edit".

All I have to do after that is record the Synth and Bass tracks
(Actual Guitar using an effects pedal).

I'm  also ready to move onto the next phase of pre production
for the music video to "Wizard of Death (Full Band Edit)"

Cant believe I'm almost done, except for filming the music videos.

Blackberry Monologues is available now!

Wednesday, February 13, 2019:

I'd just released My documentary "The Blackberry Monologues",
which is available now on YouTube as well as Vimeo.
In other news I might finally get around to recording that concept album
I've been talking about for awhile now and with it, some performance videos
in support of said album Now that I no longer stream due to
My computer not being able to handle it.
(and maybe even some remakes of old music videos)
Speaking of which, I'm seriously considering doing
a follow-up documentary about My attempts at doing so.

I May Be a "Streamer No More" but...

Tuesday, January 15, 2019:

I plan on doing performance videos in place of that.
(Similar to when I 1st started out on YouTube)
The 3rd and final trailer for "The Blackberry Monologues" drops Today.
In other news, I've ditched the "All Synth Remix" part of The concept album
and split "The Full Band Edit" and "Classic Edition" in 2 again.
I'm currently in the process of writing bass tabs for F.B.E. at the moment.
I know this came a little late but, I had some super important IRL stuff to
deal with during My time off away from the music and switching back to
this was no easy task, either but, I'm back doing what I know.

Blackberry Monologues is FINISHED!

Monday, December 10, 2018:

I'd just finished  post-production for "The Blackberry Monologues",
I can officially call it a day on this and move on to the remix album
that I've been hyping up for over a year, now.

Which I begin work on tomorrow. Yup I'm hittin' the studio finally for
the 1st time since February of this Year given that My time is now
freed up because In livestream news, My old microphone broke on Me during
My last show so, I had to get a new one and Later that night, I decided - "
No changing setlists, This show's getting' a web redemption" and thus the
upcoming livestream has been changed from "Technological Violence
Reimagined"
to the aptly named "Technological Violence Redemption"
however I've decided to give up live streaming because it turns out that the
computer I'm currently running on just can't handle it. So No more streams
until I can afford a new laptop that can handle such a high task.

The Lights are Back!

Tuesday, November 13, 2018:

I know I said I'd do away with them and "Think less rock concert, more jam session" but,
that was during the warmer months and I feel it's kind of appropriate since We've now
reached the "Wizard of Death" portion of the "Reimagined" series.
In other news, "the BlackBerry Monologues" is now over halfway done  with post-production,
and  it has a release date. February 13, 2019 with the 1st trailer set to drop sometime this month.
Also, in "Trilogy" news, I have now merged the "Full Band Edit" and The Classic Edition.
It was a long time coming. I knew it would happen eventually.

Blackberry Monologues moves onto Production

Wednesday, September 12, 2018:

I've just recently finished up pre-production
on My documentary "The Blackberry Monologues",
So now I hit the studio for voice-over work
and begin filming My parts to be added in later during editing.
I wrote the script in March and finished in May
where I began pre-production. Editing in the subtitles for the
actual "monologuing" parts of "The Blackberry Monologues".
which took Me from May until late August to complete.
The livestreams and IRL stuff outside of My music also
played a pretty big part in that as I'm separating My time
between the shows and the making of this documentary.
(Plus I'd really like to get to this remix album pretty soon.)

I'd also like to mention that so far, I think these are some of the best
livestreams since each respective  albums initial run but, We'll have
to wait until the "Judgment Years" portion of the "Reimagined" series
to see if such a statement can live up to that claim.

UStream No Longer Exists

Friday, August 10, 2018:

You might've noticed the "Shows" page
on this site looking a little different. Well,
There's a reason for that. IBM Cloud Video
(formerly Ustream) has discontinued free
accounts, so basically, if I wanted to use it
(after August 1st, anyway), I'd have to pay.
And that shit ain't cheap. So, as expected,
They basically deleted My account. And
with that, no more embedded video or chat
like You used to see on the "Shows" page
where You could go and watch My shows
and chat for free if You liked.
(Not that too many people were doing that, anyway)

This Makes My upcoming show
"The Happening Reimagined" the
1st to be featured on stream.me
as well as Mixer and Twitch.
3 sites predominately known for
gaming, despite the latter having
quite the abundant music community
that seems almost lacking in the other 2.

I'm finished with the script for My documentary
"The Blackberry Monologues" and it's currently
in production. I've yet to begin filming, or recording
any voice over work. As of right now, I'm only
working on subtitles for each part that requires it.
No release date is guaranteed yet, for all know it
could come out summer of next year. There's also
the matter of "The Remix Trilogy" to take into
account, as well.

In spite of all that, I'm happy to say that today
marks the 5th anniversary of My 1st ever
music video "Wizard of Death". Looking back
on it now, I realize that while "Mutant Melvin"
says that it's a 90's fighting game, the video
itself suggest that it might be some kind of
robot slasher film with the only character to
possibly give "Big Blue" a run for His money
being Froggit during the song's climax/outro.

No Guarantee on New Documentary

Wednesday, July 18, 2018:
After the livestream, I plan to work on
"The Blackberry Monologues".
Between the "Reimagined" series of livestreams
and the summer heat, this is taking longer
than I expected, so there's no guarantee
when it will be finished.
What I /do know is that after I get done with that,
I wanna begin work on the triple remix album
which I feel will be quite interesting to play live.
With Ustream getting rid of it's free users next month,
Twitch will be new My front runner streaming site
meaning all 3 sites I now use (stream.me included)
are known predominately for gaming and
not much for music, but I'm hoping
to maybe change that somehow.

Some BiG News regarding UStream

Tuesday, June 12, 2018:

UStream has decided to discontinue their "free" plan which means no more embedded streams on the

"Shows" page of this website. That will most likely be replaced by just the calendar letting You know when

& where events will happen, but the events themselves can no longer be shown on this website after August

if simply because I can't afford it making July's stream "Law Abiding Citizen Reimagined" the last show I'll

ever do on UStream. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend considering I've been with them since about 2012

and then I'll have to find a new streaming site that restream.io supports like stream.me or something similar

because OBS doesn't have an embed feature like the old UStream once did.

This news hits Me right in the gut as mush as I'm sure it does You guys.

Livestreams - How They Should've Been

Friday, May 11, 2018:
I'm halfway done with writing
the script for "The Blackberry Monologues"
which was slated for an early July release,
but might come out in August or September
depending on how it takes to finish.

I've got another livestream coming up
on the 16th called "Nite Trax and Thrill"
(a follow-up to April's "Nite Trax & Chill")
and speaking of livestreams, The idea of
"Livestreams Revisited" has been changed
to "Livestreams Reimagined"! and this time
They're done the way they *should've* been.

Think Less Rock Concert, More Jam Session

Friday, April 13, 2018:

The day has come. My new double
covers album "Nite Trax: vol. 1 & II"
is out now, and can listen to it here
https://soundcloud.com/bill-ulsh/sets/nite-trax-vol-1

and here
https://soundcloud.com/bill-ulsh/sets/nite-trax-vol-ii

As far as the livestream is concerned,
I decided to do away with the lights and
fog machine (save those for the music videos)
and think of this less like a rock concert
and more like a jam session.
Not pretend it's something more
than what it really is.

I've also decided to redo "Livestreams Revisited"
and included a few extra from the "Judgment Years" era.
Who knows, I might even streams My practice sessions on
the game "Synthesia" and Show you guys How I learn songs.

Meanwhile, I'm still working on
"The Blackberry Monologues"
on the side, but I'm not sure
when that will be finished.

Time for a little Nite Trax and Chill

Friday, March 16, 2018:

The 1st single "Mr. Self Destruct"
from My up coming covers e.p.
"Nite Trax Vol.II" is out Now
and You can listen to it here:
https://soundcloud.com/bill-ulsh/mr-self-destruct-nin-cover

I've always compared to "Master of Puppets" for some reason.

Nite Trax Vol. 1 & II
is set for release April 13, 2018
That's right - Friday the 13th

My next live stream in support of that
also now has a name: "Nite Trax and Chill"
and now I move onto My upcoming documentary
"The Blackberry Monologues"
so, if You don't mind, I got a script to write.

My Time Off has Come to an End

Tuesday, February 6, 2018:
I'm sure by now, some of You may have
already figured out that My time off
has reached it's conclusion,
and with that being said...

Experiment II with the Marshall Mini
& Livestream was a success. I figured
out what levels I needed for the next
time I play live somewhere.

I'm ready to hit the studio again,
for "Nite Trax vol. 1 & II"
Vol. 1 is basically the same 4 songs
You've heard before, just done differently.
Vol. II on the other hand is buncha
songs You've only ever heard me do live
never recorded until now.
Think of it less as Me doing My own
versions of these songs and more...
"Look what else I can play"

What I've been up to lately

Friday, January 19, 2018:
You've probably been wondering what I've been
up to during My time off, before I go back
in the studio to lay down some vocals
for this new covers album.
I'm just going through the motions right now.
Kicking around ideas for future projects.
Most of that stuff's already on the itinerary.
I've been experimenting with the Marshall Mini
& Ustream and one thing I've learned recently was
to turn up the mic a bit but without
drowning out the music.

Some Much Needed Time Off

Friday, November 10, 2017:
After 2 Months, The 1st part of the Trilogy
project is complete. (The main backing tacks, that is)
Asa result, I'm taking time off from any 'main' projects
until maybe January, or February of 2018
and During that time off I'll be Uploading Outtakes
& Deleted scenes from Mutant Melvin 6
and experimenting with the
Marshall mini and Livestream, as promised.

Bill Ulsh Trilogy still in the works

Tuesday, September 12, 2017:
I'm pretty much done with all the backing tracks
for songs from "Bash Contract" and getting ready to
move on to stuff from "Wizard of Death" and "Judgment Years",
but that's only the beginning, because I haven't even
gotten to the "hands-on" studio stuff yet (Vocals, guitars etc.)
I think it'll be pretty interesting to hear these songs done this way.
Can't wait to do them live, speaking of which I still plan on
experimenting with sound quality on Ustream and seeing what I can work with
at some point in time in the near future now the weather's cooled down
a little bit. As far as Mutant Melvin goes I'll snap up the outtakes
from "Texico City Mutations" at some point as well.

I am DONE with livestreams (...for the summer, at least)

Wednesday, July 12, 2017:

I've come to a decision. After My most recent show
"ReinVisited", I'm done with live-streaming for the
summer, but will however experiment with different
sounds and see what works.
In the meantime, I plan on finishing up
My graphic novel series "Mutant Melvin"
with a release date for somewhere between
late August and early September.
As for the future, There's still
"The Blackberry Monologues" and maybe another covers
e.p. in the pipeline. In time, We'll see.

The Quality of Our Lives-TReaMS may POSSIBLY improve

Wednesday, June 14, 2017:
How's it goin', My fellow Hyper-Kinetic Beings?
Excellent news. I'm almost finished with Mutant Melvin
and lemme tell ya, the story really did take an interesting turn.
(Just wait and see when it comes out)

In other news, I finally had to ditch My red and beige
"RMS" practice amp due to it fading in and out of volume
during My shows. It started at last year's "Smooth 4-Now" show,
and I eventually got tired of it, so I broke down and got a little
50 dollar "Marshall Mini". It runs on a 9 volt and it isn't big and
clunky like the last one was.

Also, I GOT APPROVED for SSDI
Yup My ADHD is now CONFIRMED!!!
So that e.p. I was working on
before might become a reality.

What's Going on with this Guy?

Monday, May 8, 2017:

My Fellow Tribesmen, I've decided it's been long enough
and now I plan to finish "Mutant Melvin" whenever there's
downtime from the livestreams in support of My Best-of album
"The Bill Ulsh Yearbook". It's been since December of 2016,
since I'd taken any time off from it. I have a couple ideas
already in store for the conclusion of "Mutant Melvin 6".
It should be interesting where things go from there.
In other news, due to the release of "Bill Ulsh Yearbook",
and the Re-Release of the first 3 albums, the Spotify Shares
are Back!!! Sharing only one song a day. and speaking
of songs, You guys should go check out "Spider's Dirty Rotten Weekend"
on spreaker, where Myself, and other artists such as SPIDER in the HALL,
& State of Being are featured, it's a nice little indie radio show hosted by
My friend Craig Huston (a.k.a. SPIDER in the HALL)

What the Future May Hold

Thursday, April 6, 2017:

You may've noticed a few changes to the website over the past week.
There's a "Comics" section where the old Guestbook used to be.
That's right - You can now read all 5 of the current "Mutant Melvin"
graphic novels EXCLUSIVELY on this website. (also what exists of "Biffman")
I also had to bump one of My upcoming livestreams up a day because
I'm dealing with some personal things of which the future of
Myself and this very website May depend on.
But not to worry about the albums, they will still come out on the 18th
as scheduled. It's anything after that You need to worry about.
