For Whom the Bell Tolls - take 2

Wednesday, October 13, 2010, 8:35 AM:
I did a remake of it back in August and had it sitting around my hard drive since like September and never really gotten around to uploading it till now. What's interesting about this one is all keyboard this time and better vocalizing.

Recording OFFICIALLY begins... TODAY!

Friday, July 16, 2010, 2:15 AM:
It's time. Bill Ulsh hit the studio today laying down tracks for the upcoming debut album "Bash Contract".
3 songs are already set to be recorded sometime this week. Ulsh was already hard at work and all about business, listening to dailies, editing and cutting tracks to see what makes the album.

"(I'm) Already seeing what works and what doesn't. Like (ex.) If I don't like the guitar track, or think the drums need to be a little louder.the Hardest problem I seem to have right now is cutting the vocal tracks. I'd record it listen to it later and find out that it just wasn't right and have to do it all over again. And when it works, Find which chorus I'd like the most, cut, and loop that and after that make sure every little thing is 'Just Right or 'album worthy' before it makes the actual album. It's a little frustrating at times." - Bill Ulsh

Recording beings TODAY!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010, 2:05 AM:
Keyboard /vocalist Bill Ulsh hits the studio working on 9 originals written for the album.
I'm super excited to finally have the opportunity to do these songs now that I actually have the time. I'll be hard at work in my home studio. I feel that through the years I've really fine tuned most of these songs to the way I've always wanted them done in the first place. Like for instance: some songs I'm finding out now only need one guitar track where as others might need both. For the past 3 week I've been experimenting during takes with what works and what doesn't for some songs. That's just how I do things.

for those of you who wanna chat / IM, Bill Ulsh will be available to answer any missed IMs or emails You may have in mind.

New Cover Song: A Tout Lamont

Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 11:35 AM:
In case You haven't noticed, I uploaded a new song
which I had recorded a few weeks ago. (a Misheard Lyrics parody of Megadeth's "A Tout La Monde" about moving out.)
I finally figured out how to get PERFECT album-like reverb on vocal tracks.
Now the big worry is editing, (remixes, repeats, loops etc.)
on each track.
Keyboards, synth, bass, drums and vocal tracks to be included.
It's gonna be hell.
the next track I'm thinking of doing is Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do".
I've always loved My remake version
and through the years have refined it into several different versions of the song.
One sounding a little more like Metallica's Enter Sandman,
and another sounding more like a cross between Bon Jovi's
"Livin' on a Prayer" and the original by Sheryl Crow
with the lyrical "gender change" I gave it  Which over the years became something all it's own.
(You'll have to hear it to understand what 'm talking about.)

Throughout the course of the past few weeks, I've taken kind of a break
from anything music related what-so-ever
(with the exception of this blog of course)
for well... personal reasons.

I will however be back in my home studio
rehearsing the aforementioned track
most likely within the next week or so.
So hold tight.

Bill Ulsh says: "The Green Light means Go!"

Friday, July 17, 2009, 10:45 AM:
I'm testing out some new editing software and as You may've noticed one the results has been uploaded today. It's a cover of Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls". Now, mind you it is Just A Test, Nothing more and not meant to sound professional in any way. So please don't criticize the sound quality I know it's not the best, but like I said. It's to test out this new software I have. If all goes well, "Bash Contract" as well as it's followups will have been given the "Green Light" For sure.

ACK NATURAL! Bash Contract- Bill Ulsh
